Eastport-South Manor athlete Matthew Pompei

Eastport-South Manor Jr.-Sr. High School varsity football student-athlete Matthew Pompei was nominated for USA Football’s Heart of a Giant Award in partnership with the Hospital for Special Surgery and the New York Giants. The Heart of a Giant award highlights Tri-State high school football players who demonstrate an unmatched admiration for the game of football and a relentless work ethic and who possess characteristics like commitment, character, dedication, teamwork and will.

As a team captain, Matthew is committed to being the ideal role model for his peers. He was designated 2nd All-Division Football as a junior as well as an All-County wrestler during his junior year. Matthew is committed to his studies and is on the Principals Honor Roll a member of the National Social Studies Honor Society. Off campus, Matthew volunteers at his church by helping to lead a bible camp and donating to people in need.
