Despite the soggy weather, the ESM community demonstrated hometown cheer during the district’s 2024 homecoming, held on Sept. 28.

The weekend celebration commenced with a pep rally for junior-senior high school students in the school gymnasium, with each class competing to be the most robust cheering section. Individual varsity athletic teams were introduced by their coaches as the cheer team, marching band and color guard entertained and rallied the students.

After a Friday night bonfire, homecoming spirit transferred to the Shark Tank, where the football team took on Harborfields High School. During the halftime show, the cheerleaders motivated the already upbeat fans and the Sharkettes and marching band gave a flawless performance.

The Sharks lived up to their stellar reputation, securing a 21-12 victory and creating football game memories that will not soon be forgotten.
