Dayton Avenue and Eastport elementary schools’ top spellers competed one-on-one for several excruciating rounds in the annual spelling bees. Students qualified for the nail-biting competition after taking a classroom spelling test with the top spellers from each grade invited to compete.
Congratulations goes to sixth grader Nikoda Mirabel who was crowned as top speller for students in grades 4-6. Fourth grader Nicolas Dzanoucakiswas the runner-up in the competition. In the third grade spelling bee, Alana Drummond was the winner with Harper Conrad winning runner-up.
After an unprecedented 29 rounds, Eastport Elementary School fourth grader Evan Gulde took home the title of top speller for students in grades 4-6 with fifth grader Emil Almeida as a close runner-up.
The Eastport-South Manor Central School District congratulates the students on this amazing accomplishment.
